The Research Bench is an independent collection of write-ups on peptide chemistry, quality testing, stability, synthesis methods, and the published research literature. It exists for one reason: most of what's written about peptides online is either aimed at marketing a specific product, or written at a level that assumes a biochemistry degree. We wanted something in between — accurate, readable, and useful to someone actually working at a lab bench.

We cover topics like how solid-phase peptide synthesis works, how HPLC and mass spectrometry are used to verify purity, why lyophilized peptides are handled the way they are, and what the animal and in vitro literature on specific research compounds actually says — as distinct from what gets repeated about them online.

Who this is for

This site is written for laboratory researchers, students, and anyone with a genuine interest in the science behind research peptides. It is not written for, and should not be used as, guidance for human or veterinary use of any compound.

What this isn't

The Research Bench does not sell anything, and nothing here is medical advice, dosing information, or a recommendation to use any peptide outside of a proper laboratory research context. Where we reference specific compounds, we're describing what has been studied — in cell culture or animal models, for example — not what a person should do with a product they've purchased.

A note on affiliation

The Research Bench is editorially independent. We do link to Epic Self Peptides, a supplier of research-grade peptides, where it's relevant to an article's topic — for readers who want to source the compounds being discussed for their own research use. That's the extent of the relationship: we write about the science, and we point to where a sample compound can be sourced when it's useful to do so.
